The Ultimate Summer Grill Topper

Can you believe it’s already August?! Summer is coming to an end and my family and I are trying to soak up the last bit of summer! Our favorite summer activity has got to be grilling! We love having friends and family over to grill outside in the beautiful weather!

This Pesto Basil is literally so good! It’s low in fat and the perfect flavor to put on burgers, chicken, to pair with kabobs or whatever else you would deem fit! Ketchup and mustard are always great, but this is the perfect new spin you have got to try, you will love it!

Here’s the Recipe:

  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves

  • 1 cup spinach

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (about 2 ounces)

  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

  • 1/3 cup walnuts

  • 3 garlic cloves

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Put all these ingredients in a blender and blend.

This sauce has lots of good quality fats from olive oil and walnuts that if eaten separate from major carbohydrate sources will boost your body’s ability to regulate blood sugar.”
